About Curious Movement Community
Curious Movement Community is the online home of Breathe In Qigong — a gentle, welcoming space to practise, learn, and stay connected between sessions. It was created by Sifu Michael Brisbois as a place where movement, breath, and stillness can be shared by people of every age and ability, whether you practise standing or seated, in a care home, a clinic, or your own living room.
A gentle practice, open to every body
At the heart of this community is Blue Dragon Daoist Medical Qigong — the art of cultivating Qi (pronounced “chee gong”) through slow, simple movement, breathwork, and meditation. Easy movements help clear blockages so energy can flow freely, offering a calm and accessible way to support balance, mobility, and a quieter mind. Because the practice is unhurried and adaptable, it meets you where you are — no experience, equipment, or special fitness required.
Breathe In Qigong is a holistic practice, and nature is part of it. Sessions weave together three traditions — Medical Qigong, forest bathing, and grounding — into one unhurried healing journey.
Meet Sifu Michael
My path to qigong began with my own body. About six years ago, my shoulder was dislocating almost weekly and I was facing surgery — I couldn’t even sleep on that side. I tried a few styles of qigong looking for relief, and in September 2020 I found my teacher, Master Love, at a qigong summit. Within a year of practising Blue Dragon Daoist Medical Qigong, my shoulder had healed, and the degenerative disc issues in my back had eased as well. That experience changed my life, and I decided to train as an instructor so I could share it. I’ve been teaching since 2022, and I’m the author of As Below, So Above.
I practise in the lineage of Grandmaster Dr. George X. Love, and I’m a certified Usui Reiki Master — my Reiki lineage flows through my teacher Halliday Walsh back to Mikao Usui, who founded the system. Alongside qigong and Reiki, I’ve trained in Buddha Walking Meditation; hand, foot, and ear reflexology; Gua Sha; grounding; and forest therapy.
About Reiki
Reiki (pronounced “ray-key”) is a gentle, non-invasive practice in which a practitioner places their hands on or near the body to encourage deep relaxation and the body’s own capacity to rebalance. I offer Reiki on its own or combined with Medical Qigong — the qigong helps open the body so the session can settle more deeply.

Our mission
Our mission at Breathe In Qigong is to share the knowledge and tools of Blue Dragon Daoist Medical Qigong so you can support your own health and wellbeing — through movement, breathwork, and meditation that help you feel more balanced, more mobile, and more at peace.
Who it’s for
Curious Movement is for anyone drawn to gentle movement and breath — newcomers and longtime practitioners alike. Sifu Michael also works with care and retirement homes, hospice and palliative settings, rehabilitation and clinics, workplaces, and retreats, where seated, balance-focused practice can reach the people for whom movement matters most.
Everything shared in this community is wellness education — it is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Sifu Michael is a Medical Qigong instructor and Reiki Master, not a physician. Gentle movement is meant to complement clinical care, never to replace it. Please practise within your own comfort and ability, and check with your doctor before beginning if you have any medical condition. No specific outcomes are guaranteed.
Based in Pattaya, Thailand, and online.
