Privacy policy

Last updated: [June 24, 2026]

This Privacy Policy explains how Curious Movement Community (“we”, “us”), the online community of Breathe In Qigong operated by Sifu Michael Brisbois, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our community platform (the “Service”). By using the Service, you consent to this Policy and agree to its terms.

1. Information we collect

We collect:

  • Account and profile information you give us — such as your name or username, email address, password, and anything you choose to add to your profile (photo, bio, location).
  • Content you share — posts, comments, messages, photos, and recordings you upload.
  • Messages you send us — if you contact us directly, we may keep your name, email address, phone number, the contents of your message, and any attachments you send.
  • Membership and payment details — if you buy a paid membership, payment is processed by our payment provider; we receive limited billing information but do not store full card numbers.
  • Usage and device information — such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the dates and times you visit, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • create and manage your account and provide the Service;
  • show your posts and profile to other members according to your settings;
  • personalise your experience and improve the Community;
  • communicate with you about your account, classes, and updates (you can opt out of non-essential emails at any time);
  • detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues;
  • keep the Community safe and enforce our Terms;
  • meet our legal obligations.

3. Cookies, web beacons, and log files

We use cookies and similar technologies (including small web beacons) to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work properly without them. [If you use analytics such as Google Analytics, name it here.]

Like most websites, our servers also keep standard log files. These record details such as your IP address, browser type, internet service provider, date and time, and the pages you arrived from and moved to. This information helps us analyse trends, administer the Service, and keep it secure, and is not used to personally identify you.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • with other members, for the content and profile details you choose to make visible;
  • with service providers who help us run the Service (such as hosting and payment processing), under appropriate confidentiality obligations;
  • if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our members and the Community;
  • in connection with a business transfer, such as a merger or sale, in which case we’ll let you know.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and afterwards only as long as necessary to meet legal, accounting, or security needs. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information, except where we’re required to keep certain records.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights and choices

You can update much of your information directly in your account settings, and you can ask us to delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may also have the following rights over your personal information:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to fix information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your personal information, in certain circumstances.
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your information, in certain circumstances.
  • Objection — object to certain processing of your information.
  • Portability — ask us to transfer your information to you or another organisation.

If you are in California, you may also request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, request its deletion, and direct us not to “sell” your personal information — which we do not do. We don’t charge for exercising these rights, and we’ll respond within the time required by applicable law (generally within one month). To make a request, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL].

8. Children’s privacy

The Service is not intended for children under [16], and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we’ll remove it.

9. International users

We are based in [Pattaya, Thailand], and our service providers may store and process information in other countries. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in locations with different data-protection laws than your own.

10. Links to other sites

The Service may contain links to websites we don’t operate. We’re not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you of significant changes.
